Save the date ! Culture for Cities and Regions final event in Ghent

The Culture for Cities and Regions final event will take place alongside the EUROCITIES culture forum in Ghent on 25 October 2017. The event will focus on the findings of Culture for Cities and Regions and will be an opportunity for members and external cities and regions to learn from each other and from experts. Invited representatives from the European institutions, other cultural networks and EU-funded projects will provide an opportunity to connect initiatives and strategies.

This first edition of the European Commission's Cultural and Creative Cities Monitor shows how well 168 selected cities in 30 European countries perform on a range of selected indicators grouped along 9 dimensions describing the ‘Cultural Vibrancy’, the ‘Creative Economy’ and the ‘Enabling Environment’ of a city. The results highlight what cities are good at and where there is room for improvement. They also show that the best performing cities are not necessarily best in everything, but rely on key strengths in different areas.
Last Culture for Cities and Regions coaching visit in Belfast

The last coaching visit of the Culture for Cities and Regions programme took place in June in Belfast. The team of coaches visited Belfast to help the city strengthen its cultural sector and infrastructure. The visit respected Northern Ireland’s regional cultural strategies, bearing in mind the uncertainty of public funding and shrinking resources.
